Please read over the terms and conditions before renting.

1. General Terms

By booking and paying for a garment rental through Luxe Lend Rent, you agree to these Terms and Conditions in full.

All rentals are subject to availability. We reserve the right to refuse a booking at our discretion.

The renter is responsible for ensuring all booking details provided are correct, including the selected garment, event date, contact details, postage information, and return arrangements.

Our standard hire period is up to 4 days, including the day of your event, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

All garments remain the property of Luxe Lend Rent at all times.

2. Payment

Full payment is required to secure your booking.

Bookings are only confirmed once payment has been received.

If payment is not completed, the booking is not secured and the garment may be made available to another customer.

Any applicable late fees, damage fees, repair costs, replacement costs, unpaid postage costs, or other charges must be paid upon request.

3. Garment Condition

We aim to provide each garment in excellent worn condition. As these are rental garments, minor signs of wear may be present and may not always be considered faults. Dresses with flaws will have these listed in the description of each product page. No refunds or discounts will be given to items with noted imperfections as this was communicated by us. We are happy to provide photos/describe any flaws upon your request.

If you believe there is an issue with the garment upon arrival or collection, you must contact us immediately before wearing the garment.

Failure to notify us of an issue before use may result in the garment being treated as accepted in its received condition.

The condition of our garments may naturally change over time through regular rental use. If there are any significant changes to the condition of a garment prior to your booking, we will contact you.

Reasonable wear and tear is to be expected with rental garments. This may include minor pilling, small loose threads, tiny fabric nicks or holes, slight stitching wear, small or less noticeable marks, areas that have previously been repaired by our seamstress, and slight fading in colour.

Before every booking, we carefully inspect all zips, buttons, clasps, straps, ties, and other fastenings to ensure the garment is in wearable condition. We do not send out garments that are not fit to be worn.

Please take extra care when wearing fake tan, makeup, perfume, and deodorant, as these products can transfer onto garments and may cause permanent staining. We ask that all tan residue is removed before wearing your garment.

Please also take care with handbags, jewellery, seating surfaces, and rough materials that may catch or pull delicate fabric. Minor pulls may be considered normal wear and tear, but larger or more noticeable damage may result in repair charges or, in severe cases, the full retail cost of the garment.

If your garment requires ironing or steaming during your hire period, please contact us before doing so, as some fabrics are heat-sensitive and may be damaged or melted.

4. Local Order Terms

Local pick-up is available in Christchurch by arrangement only.

Pick-up instructions, location details, and collection times will be provided prior to the booking date.

It is the renter's responsibility to collect the garment during the agreed collection window.

Failure to collect a garment does not entitle the renter to a refund.

Locally rented garments must be returned by 5:00pm on the next business day following your event, unless otherwise agreed.

5. Postal Order Terms

We offer overnight tracked courier delivery throughout New Zealand.

Postal orders are sent in advance of the hire date, however delivery timeframes are dependent on the courier provider and are not guaranteed.

We strongly recommend using a non-rural delivery address to reduce the risk of delays.

If a rural address is not correctly selected at checkout where applicable, Luxe Lend Rent is not responsible for late delivery caused by this.

Shipped dresses must be returned to an NZ Post shop by 1:00pm on the next business day following your event.

Return parcels must not be placed in drop boxes unless we have expressly approved this.

The renter is responsible for returning the garment on time using tracked shipping.

6. Return Conditions

All garments must be returned on time, in the condition they were received, subject to reasonable wear from normal use.

Garments must be returned:

  • by 5:00pm on the next business day following your event
  • with all provided items included
  • using tracked courier if returning by post, or by arranged drop-off if local

Late returns may affect future bookings and other customers, so timely return is essential.

A late fee of $30 per day applies to all overdue returns.

Additional fees may apply where a late return impacts another booking, requires urgent replacement arrangements, or causes loss of income.

7. Loss of Return Bag

If a postage return bag is lost, damaged and needs to be replaced, this will be at the renter's expense.

8. Cancellations and Refunds

Cancellations made more than 7 days before the hire date are eligible for a full refund.

Cancellations made within 7 days of the hire date, or failure to collect the garment, are non-refundable.

Refunds will only be provided where the issue is due to our error, such as sending the wrong garment.

Refunds are not provided for change of mind, event cancellations outside our control, or garments that do not fit. Customers are encouraged to request measurements before booking if they are unsure about sizing.

If a courier delay occurs, each situation will be assessed individually. In most cases, if a garment does not arrive in time due to courier delays and has not been worn, a refund may be considered excluding postage costs. Any such refund is at our discretion and subject to confirmation.

9. Swapping Garments

If a garment does not fit or does not suit, refunds are not provided.

Customers are encouraged to request garment measurements before booking if they are unsure about sizing.

Where possible, we may offer a swap, subject to availability.

If the replacement garment is higher in price, the renter must pay the price difference before the swap is confirmed.

If the replacement garment is of lesser value, no refund or credit will be given for the price difference.

Swap requests are not guaranteed and depend on availability, timing, and the condition of the original garment.

10. Additional Information

We do our best to accurately describe and photograph all garments, however colours may appear slightly different depending on lighting and screen settings.

Our sizing advice is general only. As fit can vary between brands and styles, it is the renter's responsibility to review size information and request measurements where needed.

We reserve the right to update or amend these Terms and Conditions at any time without prior notice.

Any exceptions to these Terms and Conditions must be agreed to by us in writing.

11. Prices

All prices are listed in New Zealand Dollars (NZD).

Prices are subject to change at any time without notice, however confirmed bookings will be honoured at the price paid at the time of booking.

Postage, late fees, repair charges, replacement costs, and any other additional charges are separate unless otherwise stated.

12. Damages, Repairs and Fees

All garments must be handled with care.

The renter must not wash, dry clean, alter, iron, pin excessively, or attempt to repair the garment.

If a garment is returned with damage, stains, missing parts, odour, makeup marks, fake tan marks, burns, tears, broken zips, pulled threads, or any damage beyond normal wear, the renter may be charged for repair, specialist cleaning, or replacement.

Fees will depend on the extent of the damage and may include:

  • cleaning costs
  • repair costs
  • partial replacement value
  • full replacement value where the garment is damaged beyond repair

We will assess damage at our discretion and provide evidence where appropriate.

13. Theft and Unpaid Fees

If a garment is lost, stolen, not returned, or returned in unusable condition, the renter will be liable for the full replacement value of the garment.

If any fees remain unpaid, including late fees, damage fees, replacement fees, or cleaning costs, we reserve the right to recover the amount owed by lawful means.

By booking with us, you agree to pay any reasonable costs associated with unpaid balances arising under these Terms and Conditions.

14. Cleaning

Do not attempt to clean the garment yourself.

All garments are professionally cleaned and cared for by Luxe Lend Rent.

Cleaning is included in the rental price for normal wear only.

Additional cleaning charges may apply where a garment is returned with excessive staining, strong odours, or marks requiring specialist treatment.

15. Limitations of Our Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Luxe Lend Rent is not liable for:

  • fit issues
  • minor wear and tear
  • allergic reactions or skin sensitivities
  • delays caused by courier providers
  • delays caused by incorrect delivery details supplied by the customer
  • losses resulting from late returns by previous customers
  • event cancellations, changes, or circumstances outside our control

Our liability is limited to the amount paid for the rental booking, except where required otherwise by law.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions is intended to exclude any rights you may have under applicable New Zealand consumer law where such rights cannot be excluded.

16. Privacy

We collect personal information including your name, contact details, delivery address, and booking information for the purpose of processing bookings, communicating with you, arranging delivery and returns, and managing our business operations. We take reasonable steps to protect your information and will not share it except where necessary to provide our services or where required by law. You may request access to, or correction of, your personal information by contacting us.
